Honey and Olive Oil

Honey, honey and more honey! Honey has been a life saviour for me through skin care and hair care, it has become a beneficial product for me, it affordable and contains many properties such as:

  • Antibacterial
  • Anti- Inflammatory
  • Prevents hair loss
  • Smooths and tames frizz
  • Full of antioxidants
  • Allows hair to become more moisturised
  • and many more, as the list goes on and on

Honey and Olive Oil Hair Mask:

  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil

You can reduce or increase to your desired amount. The amount above is for medium to long hair, but as I said you can reduce or increase to the length of your hair. I use this hair mask before and during winter, as this when my hair becomes dry and brittle to the harsh weather.

Mix the honey and oil in a bowl and apply to your hair, cover with plastic bag and leave for 30 minutes or more. Wash hair and enjoy! 🙂


Banana, Oils and Honey Hair Mask

Bananas are great to eat, but they’re also good for hair mask as they’re rich in vitamins, and allow your hair to be moisturised. Honey does great wonders for your hair, as it strengthens your hair follicles, which promotes hair growth. It prevents scalp infections due to its antibacterial properties. It also locks in moistures and allows your hair the be shiny and healthy, especially during those cold winter months.

  • 1 Large Banana
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of macadamia oil
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Oils listed above, do not need to be added, but will provide extra shine and nutrients to your hair. The oils are listed to show a variety of different oils you can use, but you are welcome to use other oils.

Cut up your banana into smaller pieces. Use either a blender or food processor, and add in all ingredients, you can add a bit of water so it blends smoothly. Blend into a smooth consistency. Make sure there are no banana chunks, as this can make rinsing you hair a difficult process. Pour the banana mixture into a bowl, and apply to damp hair. Cover and tie up hair for 30 minutes or an hour. Wash out your hair and enjoy! 🙂

Avocado and Coconut Oil Hair Mask

Is it battle to control your hair from frizz, are you tired of dry and brittle hair…? Then have I got a hair mask for you. Note that you can also use this on normal hair if you want to deep condAvocado on whiteition it.

Avocados are high in vitamins “B” and “E” which is crucial for hair growth, it helps strengthen and protect your hair. Avocados also moisturize and help tame frizz. They promote hair growth and prevent hair loss, which is good for anyone trying to grow their hair out.

All hail coconut oil! Coconut oil is literally a miracle product for hair, it’s quite affordable and above all it’s natural! It promotes hair growth and prevents hair breakage and split ends. Coconut oil moisturizes deep into the hair follicles causing the hair to become shiny and soft.

The amount of coconut oil used for this hair mask, is determined on the size of your avocado.

  • Large Avocado – 1/2 a cup of coconut oil
  • Medium Avocado – 1/4 a cup of coconut oil
  • Small Avocado – 1 tablespoon or more of coconut oil

First pour the coconut oil into a blender, and scrap the meat of the avocado and add it with the coconut oil. Blend into a smooth and thick consistency. Pour into a small bowl. You can use the hair mask as it is, or put in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. This can make applying the hair mask much easier, and less messier. Use you fingers to apply this all over you hair, I recommend you leave this hair mask for approximately 30 minutes or more. Wash out your hair and enjoy you shiny new hair. 🙂
